You’ve probably read about astral projection or maybe even experienced it without knowing what it was.

When you have a waking or conscious dream some people believe that this is actually astral projection.  People who say that Astral Projection doesn’t exist simply call this a lucid dream.

The believers in astral projection contend that all people project when they sleep and it’s just a matter of if they become conscious during the projection.   They believe that at night the astral body of the person flies about, or visits different places, or even different planes of existence.

The people who don’t believe in astral projection think it is simply all in the persons mind and part of a lucid dream.

Myself, I believe the truth is somewhere in-between.   I believe people have both astral projections and dreams which are entirely in the persons own head.

At least twice a week after falling asleep I have what can be categorized by both parties as astral projection or a lucid dream.

I have my own meditations and self hypnosis that cause these to happen before falling asleep.

The foremost qualification for astral projection, or even lucid dreaming is a state where the body is asleep but the mind is just as or close to as conscious as when you are awake.

Some practitioners of astral projection purport to be able to go from a fully conscious state, to a mind awake body asleep state, and then astral project at will.

I have only been able to do this once in my entire life.   Most of the time when I project it is after I fall asleep.   In the middle of a lucid dream or projection I will become conscious and then be able to direct myself wherever I wish to go.  Usually all I will do is fly until the wakeful state of the projection is over or I wake up.

Flying is said to be a sign of astral projection.  With astral projection the physical laws of ones body is different.  You can fly and even walk through walls.  Or travel somewhere as fast as you can think about it.  This is why in projections often a stray thought will suddenly whisk you somewhere.  No need to travel, unless you want to, you can instantly be there.

Some people will think this is all a bit of nonsense or even silly.  Some people will think that it is dangerous and unnatural, if it is real.

Most of what I have read has stated that it is a natural thing and you can’t be harmed by it.  I would agree with that.

Even if you don’t believe in an afterlife, there is no denying that we as humans are more than just flesh and blood.  There is an energy and aura about us that can be detected.

I believe astral projection is real because of the many and varied experiences I’ve had with it.   I’ve been to locals I’ve never seen before even in pictures.  The details were so clear and abundant that it was simply to realistic for me to think my mind conjured it up out of fancy.

You may be thinking, “but no one has ever scientifically proven it.”  Well, it sort of has been proven.

There have been experiments by governments around the world in remote viewing.  The experiment was started to see if there was a better way to spy.   Remote viewing has been tested and proven.  The subjects were able to locate objects and places, and draw pictures of them.

Astral projection is much like this.  But, it has differences from travelling in the phsyical world.   When a person projects their astral energy projects from the body.  It’s important to note it is never cut off from the body, their is no danger of getting cut off in a projection and not finding your way back.  Someone trying to wake you will snap you back, or if you get a little scared for some reason, or overly excited.

When you astral project, you may not always be seeing what is present in the physical world.  There is much debate over where you are when you project.  Some think that you are instantly on the astral plane. The astral plane is the representation of the physical plane.   Just as you have an astral body, so does every other person and physical object in the world.

Others think that it’s either or.  That is, you can be projecting in the real physical world, or into the astral version of it.  Think of it like levels that coexist in the same space, but are different energies that can only be seen with the right viewer.

When awake we only see the real physical world with our bodies eyes.  When projecting, although we have an astral body, we see with our minds eye.  This is why when projecting your view isn’t limited to just where your astral eyes are.  And because you see though your minds eye everything is often sparklingly clear, often much more sharp than a physical eye could hope to see.

So, is astral projection real?  I believe so.  Although it can’t be emphatically proven, I think it something that is naturally occurring that all people do at varying levels.
