Most of the guys in the weight room lift because they want to get bigger. A good portion of those guys want to get significantly bigger.
A lot of these guys are doing all the wrong exercises to get significantly bigger. Benching and curling is great, but overall the chest and arm muscles are not your largest muscle group. Yet most of the guys that are just starting that want to get big do nothing but curls and benching.
The reasons is that most beginners are under the impression that you can increase the size of just one muscle group. The body grows as a whole. Sure working one muscle group more will add more definition to that group, but it will not see huge improvement, just by working that muscle alone.
Have you even noticed the professional body builders have huge legs. You simply won’t see a man that is huge and muscular without large legs.
The reason is that you in order to gain real size you have to work the large muscle groups like the legs and the back. These are your largest muscle groups.
Working these properly causes the body to release growth hormones. Which in turn will cause your whole body to get muscularly bigger.
So, if what you really want is to significantly increase the overall size of your body then you need to work the back and legs heavily. And don’t forget if you don’t have a good diet loaded with protein, no matter how hard you work out you are not going to grow.
